tldr: Allocate 50 ETH towards retroactive rounds via new Farcaster-native UX: rounds.wtf.
Context: The Prop House team is exploring a new UX via Farcaster for Nouns to allocate funds through. There are several reasons why we feel compelled to experiment in this direction:
- Prop House rounds being inherently social, being embedded into a social medium makes running rounds a frictionless experience.
- Leveraging the Farcaster’s social graph, we can expand Nouns participants beyond our immediate voting pool in order to scale allocation efforts.
- Building atop of Farcaster makes our development cycles shorter.
Experiments: We’ve run two rounds so far:
- Round 1:
- Test: Will we receive quality submissions through “reply to submit”.
- Results: 71 submission of which 37 were awarded via 48 unique addresses allocating 1200+ votes. The allocation can be seen here.
- Round 2: (ongoing)
- Test: Will "likes as votes" function equal to or better than voting.
- Results: So far, its received 61 submissions and 300+ likes. Conclusions pending.
What's next?
We're taking everything we've learned since Prop House inception and speed running it on a new medium. Our goal is to ship a new feature to test assumptions on a weekly basis. Items we're actively thinking about:
- Fine tuning the selected voter base.
- Automating payouts to handle 100s of award recipients.
- Activating new people into Nouns via voting (likes) and/or submissions (replies).
- DIY round creation.
Ask: 50 ETH, 100% will be used towards funding Nouns contributors. The funds are being sent to a 1/2 safe managed by soli & seneca.
