Nouns Amigos is dedicated to empowering builders and creators, shifting mindsets through innovation, and offering a platform for building in one's native language. Over the past year, we established the Nouns community in Spanish, transforming its members into active builders through Prop House rounds. Looking ahead, Nouns Amigos aims to maintain this positive trajectory by continuing Prop House rounds, introducing Amigo Infinite Rounds, and leveraging the Amigo Squad to facilitate community activities and provide support to builders.

Nouns Amigos is requesting 120 ETH to support the growth and diversification of the Nouns community for the next six months.

Nouns Amigos is the Nouns community in Spanish. We are a group of builders on a mission to expand the reach of Nouns, fostering a nounish mindset among creators across Latin America and beyond.

Nouns Amigos presents a unique opportunity for individuals to access funding and pursue what truly matters to them while creating connections with an online community that has no borders.

Shifting mindsets through innovation: We firmly believe that Nouns embodies innovation, a commitment to doing things differently, and a spirit of disruption. We believe Nouns Amigos can play an important role in changing mindsets and attracting talented builders.

Building in your first language: Beyond learning about Web3, many individuals in Latin America grapple with a significant language barrier. Nouns Amigos aims to bridge this gap by facilitating building in one's first language, creating an inclusive space for exploration and growth.

What Has Nouns Amigos Achieved so far?

The Community

Nouns Amigos kicked off in June 2022 with weekly Twitter Spaces, featuring interviews with nounish folks building cool projects. The community started to grow week by week thanks to offline (IRL events), online (Twitter, Instagram, Discord), and onchain interactions (AMIGO token, Prop House rounds).

Nouns Amigos evolved from an idea to a community of builders. Every day, we're spreading the meme across countries like Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Guatemala, Spain, the USA, and beyond.

The Builders

In January 2023, Nouns Amigos created its own house in Prop House, becoming the primary source of funding for Spanish speakers who want to build with Nouns. In each round, winning builders not only receive an ETH award to bring their ideas to life but also gain an AMIGO token. This token allows them to cast votes in future rounds and decide who to award next.

The AMIGO NFT

To interact in Prop House rounds, Nouns Amigos created its AMIGO token ↗︎. Every prop winner gets an AMIGO token. This token has voting rights to decide who gets awarded every round, giving the community decision-making power. Overall, we've seen excellent results with this model and will continue with it, subject to change in the future if needed.

The traits are based on the original ones from Nouns with new heads and accessories representing Latam. We added the ñ into Nouns.

3. What Does Nouns Amigos Plan to Do?

We want to help builders build the Nounish way

Nouns Amigos wants to consolidate a community of builders creating public goods, technology, art, design, sports, science, social impact, and more. We want to inspire people to become nounish, find their builder path and create positive value in and outside the web3 ecosystem.

We believe we can achieve this by empowering the community and giving them the resources and guidance to foster their inner nounish builder.

Run Amigo Prop House Rounds

Prop House as an onboarding mechanism

Prop House is a crucial entry point for builders to test fun and fresh ideas. These rounds will help builders get a sense of what the community is willing to experiment with, encouraging people to work hard on paper before building. Prop House is a fun way to motivate people to explore their builder side, get hands-on, and participate in voting in Nouns Amigos.

We want to double down our efforts with Prop House rounds to reach more builders challenging them to put their ideas to play and get into the builder's path.

We plan to run rounds twice monthly for six months in a 7-day-proposing/5-day-voting schedule.

Run Amigo Infinite Rounds

Nouns Amigos Infinite Rounds as a low/mid-tier growing mechanism

Amigo Infinite Rounds is the awarding mechanism to help the community grow their ideas to the next level. Recognizing a lack of mid-sized awarding mechanisms within Nouns, we've identified a challenge faced by talented Nouns Amigos builders in advancing their ideas. Our aim is to create this new mechanism for this underserved cohort of builders, enabling them to push their ideas further.

These awards will have the shape of infinite rounds in Prop House. The decision-making process for awarding proposals, with a maximum of 2.5 ETH per proposal, will be voted by the Amigo Squad.

Run Amigo Squad

Amigo Squad as an executing driving force

A significant part of the success of Nouns Amigos is due to its builders. They put all the ideas and necessary execution to build nounish projects in different veins. Nouns Amigos Squad has been crucial to getting the community together week by week by hosting dozens of Twitter spaces and community calls, issuing hundreds of attendance badges as well as open editions to commemorate special moments.

The Amigo Squad has been in the background, ensuring builders succeed by facilitating information, feedback, and resources. All this work is based on 1:1 and group interactions with the community. We've seen this has worked well, improving the builders' path.

In a nutshell: the Amigo Squad's aim is to help builders succeed by facilitating funding rounds, feedback loops, resources, and tools for the community to thrive.

  • Amigo Prop House Rounds
    • The Amigo Squad will make sure Prop House rounds happen month by month by setting rounds, communication, announcements, deploying tokens and funds, troubleshooting, follow-up with round winners, etc.
  • Amigo Infinite Rounds
    • The Amigo Squad will ensure infinite rounds happen by setting rounds, direct communication with proposers, deploying tokens and funds, voting with reason, follow-up with builders, etc.
  • Amigo Squad
    • The Amigo Squad will facilitate core activities and tools for the community, such as 1:1 feedback loops and coaching, group pitching sessions, running continuous Twitter Spaces and Discord calls, continuous guiding and feedback with proposers, Nouns Amigos socials, community open editions, sharing and promoting builders projects, collaborations with other communities, etc.

The Amigo Squad will make sure all the aforementioned happens.
